Mochi is the Japanese rice-cake and Mochi-tsuki is the Japanese term for Mochi pounding. The club has been active since 2014 and participating in a few community events each year.
Members typically meet 3 to 4 times a year and make Mochi together by pounding steamed Mochi rice. Members practice to learn timing, striking form, and teamwork while having fun. The Club acquired a new set of Usu (mortar) and Kine (mallet) in 2017 and started to practice a new performance style.
