This year's Natsu-matsuri on July 12th, with over 750 participants, was a festive event for adults and children alike. Was your favorite the music show and kami-shibai, or was it the ninjutsu kendo demonstration? Children dressed up in Yukata and Jinbei for the Bon-dance ... "Oba-Q ondo de Q-Q-Q!"

Here are some Tanzaku (wish cards) from Tanabata: Nippon Club is an all volunteer group, and more than sixty volunteers helped make Summer Festival happen. We thank the students from Japanese Language School of Raleigh, people who offered their skills and time, and participants who decided to help out with the food stands.

Also, special thank you to the performers and demonstrators, Restaurant Waraji, US Foods, and North Carolina Japan Center.

Report: Children's Day Mochitsuki
Thank you for coming to Children's Day Mochitsuki.
There were 55 families, consist of 160 people, participated in the event.
Many children made kabuto from Japanese newspaper and put it on.
They also pounded Mochi and even rounded it into bite size.
Mochi was made six times, and they disappeared in ten minutes each time!
A big carp was waving in the sky and celebrating Children's Day.
